3rd Annual Brazilian Independence Day is already here! This year, exciting Bay-Area Forró band Xaxado Mission will be opening the show, followed by our featured headliner, SambaDá, with Sang Matiz closing the evening. Special guests include: Kevin Welch of Boca Do Rio, Samba Queen “Tiombe,” Samba King Jefferson Joseph, Angelo Tomandl on the harmonica with Sang Matiz and more to be announced!
We will be serving Brazilian Appetizers (Salgados and Brigadeiros) for a suggested donation. We also will be selling $9 Capirinhas & $6 drafts.
Our Special Event is a contribution to Culture, Music, Dance, Food, & Justice. This event is in support of “Coletivo Desbordar” emceed by the enigmatic Renata Moreira from Our Family Coallition. Our goal in keeping the annual Brazilian Independence Day celebration thriving is to feature California artists who originate from Brazil and Latin America and to bring our audiences their favorite music & bands. Our purpose is to unite cultures through music and provide a sense of home for immigrants and locals. Preserving our music and culture brings us all together to face the struggles of our every day lives with support and solidarity.
